As You Know, Bob…
My writer's group has this thing that bothers them. Actually they have lots of things that bother them, but I am just going to mention the one here. They call it "as you know, Bob." It's that part of any B monster movie when the scientist says "Well, as you know, Bob..." and then proceeds to bring you up to speed on what you need to know for the story to make sense.
