A Little Bird Told Me

Andare’s tribe has been forced to move for months now, fleeing the murderous raiders who stole food and killed wantonly. Thanks to the visions granted Andare by the magic potion made from the moonflower, she has been able to guide her people safely in the new lands, but the magic has come with a heavy cost for the aging shaman, and the raiders are nearing once more…

A Little Bird Told Me was a short story originally written for a charity anthology that failed to come to fruition. A magical fantasy set in another time and another place, it was supposed to be representative of women overcoming addictions and becoming the stronger for it. It was eventually published by The Story of the Month Club, May 2016, republished in Woe and Wonder: 2016 Story of the Month Club Anthology, January 2, 2017, and then by Knight writing press as a stand alone e-book in June 2018.
